Important General Information
In order to meet general Department of Public Welfare child care licensing regulations, at least one person working at a child care program must have first aid certification. General licensing requirements do not require CPR training unless there is a swimming pool located on-site. For more information regarding swimming pool regulations, please see Pennsylvania licensing regulations Chapter 3270.115.

In order for a program to attain a Star 3 or higher designation in the Keystone Stars program all staff must have pediatric first aid certification. The pediatric first aid certification, which includes CPR training, required under the Keystone Stars program must be provided by or approved by Pennsylvania Pathways.
