WHAT IS THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY
CHILD CARE CONSORTIUM?

The Montgomery County Child Care Consortium is the county’s local child care planning group. Our role is to improve Montgomery County’s early care and education system through planning, assessment, and implementation of strategic plans. A few of the issues we address include:

  • Improving the quality of care and educational instruction given to children, including the quality of child care classroom environments
  • Creating and supporting collaboration between child care providers and local school districts
  • Increasing child care accessibility
  • Facilitating a network of resources for Montgomery County’s child care providers

We are funded through a grant from the PA Department of Public Welfare (DPW). This grant was awarded to Montgomery Early Learning Centers (MELC) and it is administered through Montgomery County’s Child Care Resource Developers (CCRD).

We have also received additional funding from the William Penn Foundation and the Montgomery County Penn State Cooperative Extension.
