OUR HISTORY

In September 2001, Montgomery Early Learning Centers (MELC) brought together a group of "stakeholders" concerned about the full range of childcare issues in Montgomery County. These stakeholders included:

  • county officials
  • school district representatives
  • child care providers
  • social service professionals
  • parents
  • business
  • other community representatives

This group became the Montgomery County Child Care Consortium and it soon expanded to include an even wider range of community representatives. We invite you to join us!

Our role is to provide a means for those concerned with child care issues in Montgomery County to communicate with one another, share information, and to develop and execute an action agenda to improve child care resources and quality.
